According to a random ad I was served up on the internet just now, Toyota has super badass murdered-out !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! available on the 4Runner, Camry, Corolla (in both sedan and hatch body styles!) and Sienna. Mmm, murdered out minivan.

Whoops, maybe they should’ve included some spray-on taillight tint in the package.

I want to say black badges were a potential $200 option when I was buying my Corolla. They were listed as “black emblem overlays” which makes me think they are literally just stickers that go over the chrome badges.

That’s close—they’re hollow black plastic letters/badges with adhesive on the inside that fit neatly over the chrome letters/badges. I bought a set for my 4Runner from the parts department of a dealer on the other side of the country for like $25 shipped.

Chrysler did it with the Pacifica .  Looks nice.  We bought a ‘17 in black and I used the Oracal film on the taillights, tinted the windows and dipped the wheels gunmetal.  Then next model year Chrysler goes a and offers an S package that does similar, but blacks out the chrome.  Looks good.

Hmm my friend bought a slightly used black 2016 van just like that and it had plastidiped wheels, sprayed over some gunmetal alloys. He is not a car guy, he thought the factory paint was peeling. I finally went to look at it and I laughed. I said you need a pressure washer!

What’s weird is those cars all look modded except the 4Runner, which looks like every 4Runner I see now. It’s as bad as the Wrangler now, maybe worse (in terms of excessive modding)
